Party craft activity

Paint-Your-Own Wooden Tractor

The tractor is the party's central icon, so a paint-your-own version turns the theme's core image into something every kid gets to personalize and keep.

Paint-Your-Own Wooden Tractor

What you'll need

From around the house

  • Newspaper or a plastic tablecloth — to protect the table
  • A cup of water per child — for rinsing brushes between colors

How to do it

  1. Cover the activity table with newspaper or a plastic cloth before kids sit down.
  2. Give each child their wood tractor, paint tray, and brush.
  3. Let kids paint their tractor freely — the kit includes a stencil sheet for extra detail if they want it.
  4. Set finished tractors aside somewhere flat to dry before handling.
  5. Once dry, tractors are ready to take home and play with.

Adult supervision

Required — paint and water cups need adult oversight, especially for younger kids.

Safety note: Paint is non-toxic but not edible — keep younger siblings from tasting it. Smocks or old shirts are recommended since acrylic paint can stain clothing.
