Make-Your-Own Magic Potion
A mixing-and-pouring craft — kids combine shimmering powders and colors into their own bottled "potion" to take home. Potion-making is one of the most recognizable parts of any wizard-school world, and it's a genuinely different hands-on activity from the wand table — mixing and pouring instead of shaping and painting.
What you'll need
From around the house
- A cup of water per child — for the mixing steps
- Newspaper or a tray — to protect the table
How to do it
- Cover the activity table with newspaper before kids sit down.
- Give each child an empty potion bottle and let them choose colors/powders to add.
- Help them add a small amount of water and cap the bottle.
- Let kids gently shake or swirl their bottle to mix the "potion."
- Cap bottles tightly and set them somewhere safe to take home.

Adult supervision
Required — mixing powders and pouring liquids needs an adult managing the table.
Safety note: Powders and pigments are non-toxic but not edible — supervise closely with younger siblings nearby. Keep bottles capped once finished to avoid spills.
